TASK 01: A weird object. Not weird because it looks weird or says something weird necessarily. The strangeness of the project is about how people behave in relation to it. How you actually use it or feel it or engage with it is uncertain, ambiguous, ambivalent, doubtful, circumspect, circuitous, or circumvented. Either/or, Neither/nor, Both/and. Between them lies the period of the transformation of the one into the other. Undefined, irregular, unsettled, precarious. What social functions will remain in existence there that are analogous to present functions? More or less modified, more or less transformed, more or less realized. I have now come to the end, for the appendix that now follows in the program does not constitute a characteristic component part of it. Hence, I can be very brief.
TASK 02: “… nought but a cunning dupery of sense…” —Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, translated by Samuel Beckett.
Mónica de la Torre
TASK 03: Penmanship – Your running hand
The root of the word cursive is the Latin cursus past participle of currere to run.
Letters do not have to be relentlessly connected.
Your running hand can have rapid legible handwriting that is semi-joined or perhaps uses few, if any joins.
The choice about joining is yours.
TASK 04: It is here, when everything has been given over to viewing that one perceives that there is nothing left to see. Finish with a good turn in the dust.
Lanny Jordan Jackson
TASK 05: Design a badge/button/pin.
TASK 06: dislocation awareness
TASK 07: Halber Mensch (Half Man)
Halber Mensch is a studio album by Berlin band Einstürzende Neubauten (collapsing new-buildings). It was released on 2 September 1985. wikipedia, lyrics
TASK 08: How low can you go?
Rodrigo Rey Rosa
TASK 09: The Gay Science
TASK 10: Couple and weave the human-animal’s biological processes with other ecological cycles through variants or conceptually linked ideas of shit; ineluctable results; digestion, fabrication, intervention (Arendt). And “the friend”; to or of; embarrassment of riches.
TASK 11: February’s task will honor the life work of our member Madeline Gins who passed away a few weeks ago. I propose that we respond to her work in any way at all. Here is the reversible destiny site again, if you find it useful: www.reversibledestiny.org
TASK 12: Selfie hack
